Passions Reflection
What?
My passion is to create beauty. It is not just limited to creating artwork, however that is a big part of what I enjoy to do. I simply like to help make the world a more beautiful place, whether it is making a painting, or helping to clean up an old building and making it new again. Another part of my passion in creating beauty is also to help create beauty in other people as well as allowing others to see beauty in the world. I like to make jokes a lot and compliment people, which helps them to smile and feel a sense of personal beauty.
So what?
This is significant to me because I think it is very important that everyone finds their world beautiful. If we think something or someone is not beautiful, we are less likely to respect them. If we believe that we are not beautiful, we are less likely to respect ourselves. I became interested in this because I grew up as a child with a lot of self-esteem problems and I did not see myself as someone who was beautiful or important. But then my friend told me how pretty she thought I was and how she was nice to me, so I began to see the world in the way that she did. She loved everyone, and was always complimenting them or volunteering places to help, especially clean up projects. Along with that, I have always had a strong interest in art and in helping people, and I feel like this passion is important to that. This passion is significant overall because it allows people to improve the world on both a small scale and a large scale and makes people feel good about themselves.
Now what?
I want to learn new ways to help accomplish my goal of making the world a more beautiful place. I know that the ways in which I already do this are very broad, but I feel like it is just the beginning. I also want to figure out a way to spread my love of beauty and hope it inspires people to get involved as well. I can connect my passion directly to my major because fashion design is primarily about making people feel good about themselves in the clothes that they are wearing, as well as making works of art in each of the garments we create. I would also like to find more opportunities like Clean Up Cincinnati and other clean up programs to help make the city we live in more beautiful because it will help the city grow and become better for everyone that lives here, as well as clean up projects around the world, especially in third world countries where they might not have the ability to find beauty due to poverty and hunger. Helping to solve some of those basic problems will also help to improve their quality of life. Another thing I would like to become involved with is possibly joining or starting a club that is all about finding both inner and outer beauty, helping young or high school students help to overcome their self-esteem problems that they may have.
